Your challenge

During years of operation installed instrumentation changes continuously. The documentation and availability is often incomplete or not up-to-date. Plant operators are focused on developing reliable water or wastewater treatment both environmentally and economically. In that context, the improvement of maintenance procedures comes into focus. The increasing importance of an internal quality management system generates interest in inspecting the potential of the installed measuring techniques.

Our solution

Endress+Hauser conducts an analysis and registers all installed measuring devices, regardless of the manufacturer, in a maintenance databank (W@M portal). During this analysis, all installed instruments are evaluated in accordance to their criticality level influencing the process procedures and the overhaul risk based on the application conditions and the availability of spare parts and replacement devices.

Through the criticality matrix, the operator immediately recognizes the critical measuring points which spare parts are needed. Therefore, the cost of stocking is considerably reduced. In addition, the current maintenance activities can be optimized to achieve high plant safety at its critical control points. Last but not least, an active migration schedule avoids unplanned surprises and reduces complexity.
